I just got my Rock Lobster yesterday and I'm not the impressed with it's edge. It's the first blade I've had That's made from VG-10 and I'm wondering what angle works the best with this steel. I usually put a 40° inclusive edge on my black as deal but will the VG-10 hold a 30° angle well? Anyone that has one let me know what angle you have on yours and How well it holds up.

I put a 30 degree inclusive and 40 degree microbevel on all my VG-10 knives. That seems to hold up pretty well, haven't had to deal with any chipping or rolling.

Although it also depends on what you plan to do with your Rock Lobster? If it's kitchen work then you could probably go lower, if you wanna go bushcrafting with it, I'd keep it higher. I'd say experiment and find what works for you

30 inclusive, with a 36 degree micro for me. It really comes down to how you use it. I cut mostly cardboard with mine.

I do VG10 at 30 with no problem ending with a two strokes a side on the 40 degree fine rods for good luck :)

I sharpened up my Super Leaf with 40 degrees. A couple of swipes and its razor sharp. First time I touched it for a couple of months.

Either angle would work well for VG-10.
Should hold up without chipping or rolling.
It's a good steel.
Enjoy your knife.
