I recently bought a Rock Lobster, and wanted to share a few observations - there are an abundance of pictures on the internet which exceed my photographic skills. The quality of execution in producing this knife is evident in abundance. Smooth action, great fit and finish and a nice design.

Haven't put it to work, but the flat profile is easy to pocket, and the handle allows for a variety of grips. The thin flat ground blade is made for serious slicing.

I have read quite a few comments of people who like the rock lobster and many who do not care for it. I am now in the "like it a lot" camp.

Credit goes to the Glessers for being willing to try new and innovative designs in knives. Each model appears to reflect thoughtfulness about the purpose of the knife. On that note, I had to buy a Chokwe today.

I have a Lobster and like it quite a bit. It's a big Spyderco which rides slim and light. The only complaint I have with it is that the edge was a bit too thick and took some time to reprofile to get sharp. I've found in my Spydercos which are FFG that they don't come as sharp from the factory.

Otherwise, I like the knife quite a bit.

I really like my Rock Lobster. Its like having a folding straight razor with a clip. Whenever I carry it im amazed they packed so much blade length into such a thin and ligh weight knife. Reminds me of a large folding bread knife only sharp sharp sharp. Just a cool design as well. My one complaint on mine is the edges of the g-10 are a little rougher than similar spidies. Dont know if its due to the thin design of the g-10 slabs or what. Just a minor nit pick though, I would buy mine again in a heart beat.

I handled one recently at a local knife shop. It seemed pretty cool, but I was concerned about the liner b/c it looked to be a bit thin for the overall knife and blade design. Any thoughts?

I feel confident with the liner lock thickness because it is made of SS, and because of it's relatively short length. Looking inside the knife, the relief doesn't go back that far in the handle. Many of the liner locks I own have similar thickness of the liner lock, and are plenty strong.

Yeah, could be the milling or the molding. Running over it a little with an emery cloth will make it more comfortable, and not alter the look much at all if you round any sharp corners.

The $200 price tag has kept me away so far, but the Rock Lobster is a very appealing design.
