Hey guys and girl(do we still have one of them here?),

I don't watch much TV at all(like none, except for this show), but there is a show on CBS called the above. They have some good performers and performances from unsigned singers looking to get into a band comprised of Tommy Lee(drummer, Motley Crue), Gilbey Clarke(guitar,Guns n' Roses) and Jason Newsted(bass, Metallica). There are some VERY good female singers, and 2 VERY good male singers, but the talent pool still has 11 singers, so viewers will still have to put up with some painful moments.

Storm Large is very cool!(one of the female singers). Check it out, I think it is worth watching.

Hmmmm, I will have to check that out. Thanks for the heads up. As a general rule, I HATE "reality" shows.
 
I like that show. I watched last years too although I'm not much of an INXS fan.

I'm digging Dilana in this years group.

It is the performance show on Tuesday, and the elimination on Wednesday that is worth checking out.

I hate reality shows too, but this is Rock N Roll!

Very good show.

There is some definite talent on the show, however I think Lukas Rossi stands above the rest, he has stage presence, a rock singers voice and a certain attitude about him.

Patrice and Dilana are entertaining.

There are a few who shouldnt be there and sound better suited to be country singers.
 
One thing I have to add too is that the house band is amazing. Those guys do a superb job. How bout that guitarist who played with Dilana last show? Excellent delivery.

I sometimes wonder if the houseband has more talent than Supernova itself!

I think it comes down to Lukas or Magni for the title, but I also think that Patrice, Storm, and DILANA will hang on until the bitter end.(Didn't want to come off as a dork fanboy if no one else piped up:D )

ANY band that has Tommy Lee on drums, and Jason Newsted on bass is going to kick the crap out of 90% of rock bands out there. The House Band rips on covers, but I wonder what it would be like for THOSE cats to write an original song?

He left Metallica in 2001 and did a bunch of stuff before the creation of Supernova. So he didnt quit specifically for Supernova.
 
Have they played any Metallica songs? I've seen the two Wednesday elimination episodes, and while it was neat to watch, I would've liked to have seen Tommy and his band up there playing, rather than the house band. I do think that Storm is pretty good. Even though I've only seen two episodes, and spent most of that time channel surfing, I would still like to hear some renditions of Soundgarden, Metallica and Nirvana, my three favorite bands that are from the bandmates era. Already heard a Nirvana song, but I'd like to hear Smells Like Teen Spirit. Would definitely love to hear Black Hole Sun covered, even some more Audioslave would be good. As for Metallica, I think that they should play some, I'd like to hear my favorite, Unforgiven, but also Enter Sandman, And Justice for All, and Fuel (the Metallica song, not the band). I also think that, even though I'm glad they're changing it up, and illustrating that they have a broad spectrum, they should stick with the hard stuff. Some power pop thrown in from the retrospectives I've seen.
 
No one has tried a Metallica or Gun 'n Roses tune yet. Of course they don't really have a choice I guess since all the songs are pre-selected for them collectively.

BTW why has Zayra not been kicked out yet?

I'm not sure the show has permission to do GNR or Metallica.

My wife postulates that Zayra is still in the competition as a "train wreck", ie, we all know that she sucks, but she provides great entertainment value (cheap thrills), Dana getting axed was no surprise, but we think that Josh shot his load this week, and will soon be toast. Lukas was a bit of a surprise, because even though he had his back to the audience for 1/2 of his song, he still sounded great.

Anybody think that he is NOT the new lead singer of Supernova, and why?

It should be interesting tonight, it looks like Lukas is singing "Creep"

Did you see the show on Sunday? SuperNova asked the rockers to write their own lyrics to music written by the band, Lukas kicked ass.

Zayra and Josh have got to go.
 
Lukas rocked the house tonight. I still think he could open up that throat a little more though. Dilana was great as well.

Bet Lucas gets the encore tomorrow.

And Zayra...well not a whole lot I have to say about her...
