Anyone ever here of Rockblade- the guy has an ebay store- and seems to specialize in damascus. William Edwards, and John Miller seem to be two knife"makers".. Was just wondering if anyone had any opinions on there stuff.

Because the RockBlade knives are typically "different" looking, and that's what I collect, I bought one to get a close look. Appearance and presentation = A+; Damascus quality = C+; Workmanship = D; Mechanics of folder = D-. My example has a wood inlay in the handle which appears to be veneer attached with rubber cement (!) so this is not an example of the higher forms of knifemaking art. And, I'm amused at the extreme slickness of the marketing, using multiple websites and methods of sale along with silly hyperbole in all of the descriptions. I have to tip my hat to this guy. He will make millions in his lifetime. Would I ever carry one of these anywhere which required the possible use of a knife? Not on your life. Would I purchase another? Possibly -- but now that I have one in my collection, it would have to be a really Gee Whiz design. There are also some rumblings around the forums that these designs are all (?) rip-offs of other artists' work. I can't say for sure but unless the others have Copyrights or Design Patents isn't this bound to happen? At least this guy is NOT mis-representing the brand. The blade is clearly marked "RockBlade". Where's the beef?

This is a typical Marketing scam that has been going on for a long time. Most of these knives are made in Pakistan of unknown metal Damascus and inferior general construction, some are stolen designs of popular makers often with small or no changes.

Do a search here on BF for a thief/scammer that has many aliases like - Tim Noble, James Noble, James Niven, Mark Noble, Thomas Williams (sheffield), William Rogers etc.
