I'm looking at getting a Rockford Rams Hardness Tester 10A-T10 from a guy here locally the unit looks very clean and will come with about 6 or 7 test block from RC45 to 65 I just can't find much info on the web so I thought I'd ask here. He's asking $600

I just picked up a 10A recently. It use a spring to apply the load instead of weights like a lot of the other testers use. The nice thing is that the machine only weighs about 40 lbs., most others weigh 150+. Make sure you get the anvils for it as anvils from other machines won't fit. My machine didn't come with any so I will need to make one. Also make sure it comes with a "C" diamond penetrator. Let me know if you need a copy of the manual.

Good luck,
Lon

Lon,

Thanks for the info it does have a flat anvil and 3 tips plus the reference blocks, does $600 seem like a fair price?

Thanks Tim

Tim,

$600 seems a little high. You can get a brand new tester from Enco that's on sale right now for $695. Shipping might be expensive though.
