Hey everyone, I've been scrolling through many thousands of pages of information over this last month, In one of the threads I found this rockstead knife DON ZDP and personally I'm am in love with it. I tried to find pricing, and other information, but I could only find that these knives or this knife sell(s)for thousands. Is that true? If so why in the world? I've been looking for information here but haven't found much (may be looking in the wrong places, if so my apologies). Also I looked on their website but I can't find anything about these knives being tested, as well as prices. Looking for anyone with personal experience with these or general knowlege. And as always, thank you all so much in advance for your help and wealth of information. :D

Rockstead knives are expensive because they consistently produce near-flawless knives with very tight tolerances and hand finish them, and do crazy heat treats on premium steels. If people will pay thousands for that, they will price them accordingly. I haven't seen much on the fixed blade Rockstead knives, but I've seen some very positive reviews of the Shin folder. They certainly make good knives, and if you're comfortable paying for a knife that expensive I'd imagine you wouldn't be disappointed.

I have owned several. They are beautifully made, however, I had issues with edge chipping. By the time I took delivery of my Tei, I sold it promptly and haven't looked at Rockstead the same since. As I look back on my experiences, I now find them to be overpriced.
