Greeting forum!

I am looking at this knife, and having a hard time deciding between these two steels. Please help me out with my choice, but give me reasons and actual experience please:) I want to get this one right the first time with no regrets!

Thanks for the advice

I have owned a Shin in YXR7. Amazing in every single way. With that being said, when I get my next Higo, I am going ZDP. I don't want to have any corrosion concerns as I live in 100% humidity 24/7/365.

You can't make a bad choice either way and availability might make the decision for you since they are hard to come by these days.

Aquaman, is that you?

It is difficult for most of us to have experience with ZDP and YXR7 the way Rockstead does it both heat treat, final hardness and geometry/polish. I'd imagine they are both pretty wear resistant, and at that high a hardness for ZDP both will be fairly rusty without a coating. Moderately so with the high speed steel slightly more so, and also tougher. There used to be a chart that said that anyway.

Thanks for the help, I also just thought of something as I was cleaning the polished blade on the carry folder for the day.....is the mirror polished blade a pain to keep clean?

...

(I can relate to the humidity... I spent my high school years in Puerto Rico)...
Have you considered H1?
G. Sakai has a reasonable selection and then of course there are the various Spydie fixed and folders.
