Rockwell C vs Superficial

Does anyone know the differnce between a superficial hardness tester and a Rockwell C hardness tester?

Will a superficial tester work for what we need it for? Would a rockwell C tester work better for testing blades after heat treat?

The one to use for blades is the Rockwell C.The Superficial is a specialized one.

Could a superficail be used for blades? Can the numbers from a superficial tester be converted to rockwell C?

There are conversion tables to convert within all the hardness tests. While the Superficial [30N] can be used for knives the purpose of it is to measure the hardness of very thin material or surface layers such as case hardening.
