Ever hear of Rocky Mountain Ivory? Me either!
I just took an elk antler and eliminated the exterior. It was a little sun bleached, so I just took the whole thing down to the "ivory"!
Fittings are end grain! wrought iron. The grain is running through the pieces the direction of the blade.
Made for a really interesting etch!
Blued pommel nut.
My regular take-down configuration.
Forged from 1" square 5160 using the forging and heat treating recipe I learned from Ed Fowler.
Got my new photo tent on the table and just couldn't resist!
(Got a few kinks to work out!)

I like what you have done with the elk antler: taken enough off the weathered/bleached exterior but kept part of the texture. Great use of a natural material that might have just been scrapped!

I really like this. I have the antlers and the iron, now I just have to find the time.... Great job!

Karl:
You did a nice job on that knife, she had an honest temper line, good style for the blade and the 'Rocky Mountain Ivory" is capped to keep it from chipping out if dropped. She also has a adequate guard to keep her friendly to her man.
Congradulations!

nice flow to that one friend! Looking great :)
