Looking through the other trip reports last night made me jealous so I took a hike this morning in Rocky Mountain National Park. I feel blessed to be close enough to head here on a whim. Had my Runt (took it back from my wife) in my pocket and Arete in the pack so it's kind of Fiddleback Forge related but they never had the opportunity to get used. I headed up from the Bear Lake Trailhead through Nymph Lake, Dream Lake and finally Emerald Lake. These three lakes feature Hallett Peak as their backdrop with Emerald Lake being at it's base. There's also views of Longs Peak along the way.

Beautiful. Just what I needed to distract me from a hot, humid day in Houston. Thanks for posting those.

Great photos & reflections! Too bad we didn't get to see your FBs but looks like a great day of hiking.

Wow! Gorgeous man. I miss living in the mountains. Thanks for the pics!

You are surrounded by something incredibly beautiful. Good to see you enjoy it!

Man, that is beautiful. Just what I needed too! Thanks for the pics. I'm living vicariously through y'all.

You're welcome all. I do feel blessed to live near here. I wish I had a real camera and decent skills to really do these places justice.

Did not hear them while I was there this time. A couple weeks ago we were camping at Moraine Park which is just a few miles from where these pics were taken and this guy was just hanging out:

I've been on some of those same trails I believe when my brother-in-law (RIP) and I hiked up to Lake Haiyaha several July's ago. I remember Bear Lake & Dream Lake and what beautiful country it is. It was mid July and it was snowing as we neared Lake Haiyaha, which was pretty awesome for a couple of central Texas boys. Thanks for sharing the great photos as they bring back very good memories for me.

Was there about a month ago, right after Trail Ridge Rd opened, after stays in Yellowstone and Grand Teton too. Great trip. My in-laws have a mountainside cabin just outside Estes Park, I need to make better use of it!

Pics are great, what camera where you using? And next time, take a pic of the Fiddlebacks on a stump or something... LOL...

Brisket, sorry for your loss. I'm glad there are good memories. The trail starts at Bear Lake and then splits at Dream Lake and heads to Emerald Lake or Lake Haiyaha. Gotta love snow in July.

Stratmeister, I'll try to at least get one shot with a FB next time :) I'm just using a Panasonic DMC-ZS19 although there might be a shot or two in there from my iPhone 5 as well.
