Here it is! 7" x 3/16" blade, with walnut handles and 1/16" thick black micarta liners. As soon as my firesteels get here I will make the sheath, handle the firesteel, and ship it off. The big problem I`m having with making these is I want one!

WOW. That may just be my favorite of all the knives you've made.

John that looks great. You make a lot of great knives, but I always think of kephart when I think of JK-knives. I just might start revising that thought with your Hudson Bay though. I think this one will be as big a hit as the kephart, and to me that is saying a lot!!

Congrats Rockywolf - looks like a great one!

Coming next week! Woooohoooo. I will break out the camera to share pics with the rest of you.

Excellent work on this one. I like the combination of liners and finished steel. Even though it is the same general design as my 7" HB, it looks like a completely different knife.

Rockywolf, I think you will find this to be a stellar all-around camp knife and chopper.

All the best,

- Mike

Impressive looking knife! Looks big.

HAHAHA! Thanks Rotte! I love a good laugh.

So I picked it up yesterday and had to leave it in my car trunk while working. :grumpy:

(Sorry no pics). Took it outside for a few minutes today and chopped through a thick green branch, then used it as a draw knife to shave bark, and THEN it did kitchen duty making chili---chopping onions and garlic. Darn thing didn't complain or cry, even when chopping the onion.

It is a big knife, as Rotte suspected, but not too heavy on my belt or in the hand. I would sacrifice a bit of weight to have this baby with me anytime!

Thanks John!! I will give a proper review soon.

Can't wait to see some kitchen photos of this one.
I won't know if the drool is for the food or for the knife:thumbup::thumbup:
