Per John's request. Pics of my ewok. It's modified with a longer handle and extended tang. It may become a special coming up soon. The sheath fits in my back pocket and the handle only sticks out a little. I would opt for the firesteel slit to be a tad lower since it gets hung up sometimes, but it isn't every time so I make do. This knife is a solid performer and goes in my pocket or pack on my many walking trips in good weather.

I was looking at my EWOK today thinking about John's newest contest. The best Idea I had was basically an EWOK with a full handle and a slightly longer spearpoint blade.
Thanks for posting this, I love that handle!!!

Yup, me too. Running out of ideas. I already had him modify this knife and I designed the Phoenix last year...oh and I had John shrink the blade on my new JK Original--which I was forunate enough to be able to name (thanks guys). I have no more need for additional knives... they are all wants now. I dig the Riverwoods Companion a lot. Might be one in my future, with a sheath like the one I posted above.:D

Kind of reminds me of this guy, I've been EDC'ing this for about 2 months and really like the size, makes a great coat pocket blade.

I like the Sparkler too. I have another EDC that is attached to my leather pouch John made. He called it Rockywolf's choice and if I recall, only 2 were ever made. It is about the size of a regular EWOK yet has a bit different blade profile. I will try to get a pic or two today.

I would love to see that one as well Rockywolf. These little workhorses are really the unsung pocket heroes that open packages, cut apples and handle so many tasks everyday. The bigger blades have an appeal and place but, while I love my Kephart, it would look kind of out of place on my dress belt in the office.

Very nice kit Rockywolf, looks like you covered all the essentials!

Thanks. I need to toss in a space blanket, button compass, and my water bottle isn't pictured. The rest of my stuff is in my daypack (stove, snacks, blanket/poncho) and I have yet another, bigger kit in car. I am never too far from civilization, so I feel pretty confident to get home and stay alive. Making fire and staying warm are a priority here in the north.
I practice making fire more than any other skill. I suck at knots, using a compass is rudimentary, my wild edible knowledge isn't high; I can however, make fire and get a shelter up fairly quickly. This kit is a great addition to any one's gear set. I have some ideas on another one, maybe John will make me one later this year.

Did John make the pouch as well? Not sure if you touched on this and I just missed it. A JK survival kit perhaps? A May/June special maybe?

I am in for the April special. I will pick the handles and pins as the time approaches.
