cyberbeast, thanks for making this model. If the price is not too high and they promise not to hollow grind the blade (flat is ok, convex way mo better!) I will buy one for sure, even pay up front.:)

What kinda blade thickness are we shooting for? I wouldn't mind having a more slender livlier blade in hand. Even if it meant that the piece didn't have the HI unbreakable warranty. As this is a special run I, for one, wouldn't mind a slimmer blade.
Thanks for all the good work.

looking good. Though you might want to put an edge on it. Wouldn't want the Kami's to make dull knives. Also, painting it to show the lines and such might help.

Thanks I did not even think of that, Yes I will put a slight edge on it to show a grid but it won't be to sharp. If it get to thin it will chip. I want to make the fuller a little more pronounced and I will put a slight bevel on the back edge like the traditional hanshee have. I am studing pics of handle so I get the right shape. Keep the suggestions coming, I need all the perspectives I can get to make this come out right so that everyone will be pleased with the final product (on my part that is). What the kamis do and how they persieve things will be different. Thnaks one again.

Depending how authentic you want the hanshee to be you might also want to consider this style karda.

CB,

Thanks for the work you're putting in. I'm not interested in this style, but I know you're working hard on this, and it's appreciated.

John

i love those top two kardas.
i want those with mine, however, i want them at least 7 inches long, the size of a jkm-1

I suspect that if we can ever get this project to the manufacturing stage AND they turn out as spec'd, they will become a permanent part of the HI line. Interesting, pleasing item and no other source.

No other source yet. There are 2 other places that are trying to get models into the market, but so far what they have shown me falls far short.
