Thought I'd share this piece with all of you. I completely forgot I had it until I was cleaning out my garage the other day.
Personalized Defense Spike, Serial #001. Dated Feb. 1999.
I bought it from Rod Chappel's son, Rod Jr. in 1999 (who tragically passed away a few years later) when he and his father were working out of the gun range in Mountlake Terrace. Rod Sr. used to sharpen my all my kitchen knives. At the time, I had no idea he was a giant in the knife making world. I remember Rod Sr. gleefully telling me how the Defense Spike would punch through a bulletproof vest.
It's a micarta handle, unsure what the white piece is, and brass. It's insanely sharp. The craftsmanship is superb as expected. It's an extraordinary piece. Rod Jr. had an eye and talent just like his father. I apologize for the photos (I'm too lazy to set up my studio for a proper product shoot). I have to polish it up a bit more as well.
Would be cool to see it next to Rod Sr's. Defense Spike #001.
