under that bulbous plastic handle, what kind of tang will I find for the Rodan? I'd like to make my own micarta scales if it has a tang that will allow me to do so.

It's probably pretty beefy. It's nicely balanced in-hand.

Hey Payette, I changed the title of the thread in case anyone is looking for it. I hope you don't mind! Here is a picture.

Thanks for posting that Joe. I was wondering the same thing. I do however really like the handle that it has. Fits my big hand just right.

Well, it may not be full to the butt, but it's close enough to be very strong. I want one (but you knew that).

Oh wow...the grinds on that are a TON more crisp than on mine...are those second production run or something?

Is there a standard blade thickness on these?
My 2 were way different. One was 1/8" the other was 5/32".
I'd still like to get a 3/16" thick model.

The steel thickness varies a bit at the moment, due to production processes. I believe that they're working on remedying it though. :)

It should be 5/32. If you do not like the 1/8th, you can probably send it back.

Yep, those are 2nd production run.

The 1/8" one is much lighter than the other.
I'm gonna keep it just to compare the 2 in use.

I've done some around the house cutting with these. I really like the handle.

If it will stop raining for a few days I plan to get some outdoor usage going.
