My first swamp rat knife has arrived, and it's a great piece of steel.





Also, really nice Kydex from MR. Brown.

Looking forward to going out and putting this rat through it's paces!

Congrats! Also how tall is the guard? It looks shorter than the TGLB's. Let us know if the guard gets in the way of chopping

The guard is the only thing I'm a little unsure about. I don't mind it under the choil, but on the backside, it's fairly high, my thumb buts up against it or needs to rest on it if my fore finger is in the choil to do detail work.

With My thumb behind the guard, it's fine, even if I move my thumb down for a closed fist like grip

But if I have to move my thumb up over the guard, it's very fatiguing, and I won't be able to work for long in this position.

I like it. Did you get it from the manufacturer, and if so, how long did it take to get after you ordered it?

I did order directly from Swamp Rat. I had the knife in hand a little more than 3 weeks after purchase. Dave Brown had the Kydex to my door before the Knife showed up.
