So I finally got to woop on my rodent 9 for the first time over the weekend. I usuall take my Battle Rat or 1311 or the Basic 11. I was a little worried about the handle not being comfy but I must say I like it as much as the almighty Battle Rat!!! It is a awesome knife for sure! My buddies never seen a knife beaten threw a log to make kindling and they loved it. Lol they wanted to try it too. The weight of it is a bonus to for light hatchet work. If you been thinking of getting one I would

I just tried to post a pic but it says upload failed???? I will try later. I took my NMSFNO this weekend and to be honest I like the R9 better. And it's half the price!! I have a lot from the yard ,hog pen and the swamp and for the money I still say the Rats are the best buy !

Price doesn't always determine what you favor. I have a couple cheaper blades that I prefer to some of my more expensive ones as well. I'm sure the R9 is a fine blade -- I love the R4!

The rodent 9 is a beast of a knife! It is my new favorite chopper. I don't even look at my trail master anymore.

I've been interested in the R9 for a while, but I need to see some more pics of the handle thickness to know for sure if that's what I would like. I had a R6, but it was a little thin in the handle for me, so I sold it and got a TGLB.

The Rodent 9 handle is actually thicker than the TGLB, but has a more rounded contour to the swells than the TGLB.

You know the swells on the TGLB really surprised me, I wasn't 100% sure they would be comfortable, but it is by far the most ergonomic handle on any knife I own. That's good to hear that the R9 is similar in design. Thanks for the info!

I definitely agree with you about the TGLB handles being very ergonomic. If you are a fan of the TGLB handles, then the Rodent 9 handles would very likely be something that you would appreciate.

The Rodent 9 handles are optimized for a chopping IMO, when choking back you get a very secure grip without having a lanyard. They are probably less ideal as an all rounder vs. the TGLB, however.
