Pretty stoked. Just ordered one direct from the Swamp.
Wish to heavens I had never sold my very 1st Bussekin ever the Rodent 7. At the time I just didnt think the handle was for me. I should've given it a chance I reckon.
I realize the R9 has the same handle as the R7. But I feel the R9 will serve better as a chopper and batonner/kindlin maker.
To fill the gap of the now discontinued R7, I now have a Ratweiler and 2 ASH1 BG's.
At any rate, I sure am looking forward to this R9!

My dad (81) still burns a lot of firewood. I can't wait to start usin her :)
Gonna be a lot of fun.
But ya know, unless I'm wrong and I totally could be, the great thing about Busse, is that whether it be an R9, Ratweiler, Ash1 or RMD, they all have what it takes. If need be a man could just take his time and make tinder with an RMD. Awesome steel for sure.
 
Would you lot stop it please? Despite my reservations about the handle on the R9 you're making me want one. :eek:

:) That Rodent 9 would look oh so good in the Land Down Under!
And as hard as the wood y'all have it would earn its keep :)
 
Use it and abuse it. You'll soon understand why the handle is shaped the way it is. I love mine...

Not to derail the thread, but has anyone had a chance to compare the Rodent 9 against the new Ratweiler in a chop off yet? Thoughts??
