Rodent Waki Questions???

Hey guys, I have two questions I thought someone here might be able to answer for me:

1) I have a Rodent Waki I bought a while back and I would like to purchase a sheath for it. However, I'm a little confused about something. Has SR produced any other blades like the Rodent Waki in the past? The reason I'm asking is that I see people talk about Wakis and Rodent Wakis and I'm not sure if they're referring to the same blade. I don't want to buy a sheath for a "Waki" only to discover its a different knife from my Rodent Waki.

2) Does anyone know where or if there are leather sheaths available for Rodent Wakis? I really hate kydex, and I mean REALLY hate it. In the early 90's it was something new and different, but I'm over it now and would prefer a nice leather sheath. Can anyone point me in the right direction.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe the Waki and Rodent Waki are one and the same. I got a really nice Armoraleather one from the company store at the same time I ordered my Waki, unfortunately I don't see them on the site now. You could try contacting the sheath maker directly though.

Swamp Rat has never produced anything similar to the Waki.

Scrapyard came out with a similar offering called the Scrapizashi, but in here and the Busse Combat/Busse Sales forum the Waki is indeed the Rodent Waki.

You will pay a pretty penny for leather vs. kydex but let us know how you like it!

Okay. Good to know the Waki is the only sword ever made by them so I won't end up with an incorrect sheath. I'm not a Busse historian either, but it looks to me like Busse has made several different but similar swords over the years, and I was afraid SR might have also.

Swimmerdude1127, you're not kidding about the price difference. Those Chuddy's are about 3 times the cost of a kydex sheath. But man are they nice!

Chuddy Bear makes a sweet Waki rig

Big +1!

He knocked my Warden and RMD sheaths out of the park. I like them so much that I'm gonna ask him to do another for my Waki, even though I already have kydex for it, mostly for the baldric.

A lot more works goes into a leather sheath, but that doesn't mean kydex isn't nice. You can definitely tell the difference between a experienced vs. non-experienced kydex bender.
