Rodney Houriani v. Buck Knives Inc

I just stumbled across this. Anyone ever hear of it? I did not read the whole thing but was a class action lawsuit against Buck for claiming their knives were made in USA when in reality only the knife and not the sheath was made in USA. By not revealing the sheath was imported the suit claims consumers were misled into paying a higher price for what they expected to be a completely made in USA product. Buck settled last year for $200K. What a ridiculous suit. Anyone remember the lawsuit about some Oldsmobiles (?) having engines made by other GM divisions?

Yeah, I read that before and although I agree they should have maybe said it had an imported sheath at the same time I think it's kind of petty. Unfortunately this is the world we now live in where we all have to tippy toe through life.

I think it came up in one forum thread last year. I sure hope the knife box and warranty card were made in the USA as well. Silly people.

I recall there was a link where you could submit past Buck knife purchases that qualified to try to claim some of the money from the lawsuit.

I did find the old website link. Some details of what was eligible. Quite a list of knives. The deadline to make a claim ended on 6/1/2022.

Oh well, today's world. I have both types of sheaths and either is fine. Really like heavy duty nylon best - no green stuff on my brass bolsters with those. OH

There's always a MEXICO sticker inside the leather sheaths, and a China label on the synthetic sheaths.
