In 2007 I talked to Roger about making me a new knife, but because I had a special request it took a while before he could get started. My special request was that his son Isak would make a carved handle and because Isak is very busy with a demanding daytime job, designing video games for worldwide releases, it took some time.
A couple of months ago Isak mailed me this picture of his work and informed me that he was almost done.
With the handle almost ready Roger could go and start his part of the "job" and yesterday I received an email from him with a couple of pictures (unfortunately not the best quality).
The handle is legal elephant ivory. The blade is 25.5 cm (10 inches) long with a width of about 35-40mm. Overall length is about 14,5 to 15 inches. The hilt is made of an old horsewagon part, it's wrought iron from the mid 1800´s.
It is etched so you can see the "float-lines" from the melting process of the iron. The ferrule is mammoth ivory...from Holland
 with some very cool colors. The blade steel is 15N20 + 15LM and consists of 3 bars. The central bar is a "river-pattern" and the edges are of "unsplit" explosion pattern and extremely tight twisted.
Although the knife needs some finishing touches I felt I could show you these pics for your enjoyment. As soon as I have pics of the completely finished knife I will show them here.
