I think my first post got deleted,by accident. so if it didnt sorry for posting twice on the same subject. I dont know how many of you are familliar with the awesome line of hard use watches Richard Marcinko and his Rogue Warrior Watches company have put out. Any way i bought one thr Red Cell model for a little over $400.00- and i couldnt be happier the watch lived up to everything he advertised and then some. Now more recently The are now selling some pretty good looking knives. They stared with 3 fixed blades all about 10 inches overall. All 3 double edged and my opinion is that they are hardcore custom made combat/fighting knives. The stuff they are made out of the steel, the unique handles, The special coating on the blade ,the sheath, everything. The top dog of the 3 is The Sharkman selling for $650.00 Iam definitely going to buy one. I think this forum is great and we all are likeminded in our love for knives and their uses. Finally i am very curious to hear a few opinions on this knife. Nobody i know personally is as into knives and going to knife fighting seminars like i do, and train with them daily.Of course they all think im a fanatic but i know you guys know what im talking about. Tank you- in truth Warchild1971

welcome to the forum!! I haven't yet seen the knives or watches but, I read his books and they are great.

This reads more like SPAM than anything else.

Are you serious? Richard Marciinko left the Navy in 1984. How much combat has his "Red Cell" watches or knives seen -aside from books and video games?

The 8A could very well be AUS8A, a Japanese steel that is used in many mid priced knives. It is a good steel, but for a high dollar knife (think I read that these would be around $500) I would expect something a bit more exotic. That is if 8A is indeed AUS8A.:)

My thought, too. The comment by the OP about these knives being custom is suspect, too. At $500-650, they're priced in custom area. The steel is probably AUS-8A as "8A Super" is most likely that. If it was some high-end steel, they'd advertise it.

What I see are knives that are marketed very well (Catering to "mall ninjas" most likely) & should be under $100 or so (Street price), but are trying to cash in on a certain person & his past accomplishments.

I also enjoy Marcinko's books, but can't say I have any interest in his watches or knives.

That is all I could find too. I figured I must be wrong because of the price tag. $400+ for AUS8A is a rip off.

Don't know why; but, when I saw the ad for these knives in Tactical Knives - Dark Ops came immediately to mind......Maybe it was the ad copy; or the ad layout. :D

Website is here. The FAQ and individual pages have PDF files with more info.

Steels are listed as:

8A - No clue, but it would be weird if it's AUS8A considering price.

Rouge Warrior Steel - From the website, "These blades - and all future ones use a super steel and processes which results in what we call "Rogue Steel." The resulting blade is very hard (keeps an edge for a very long time) and is extremely tough. Its' resistance to corrosion is amazing as well. But to reveal more about our steel and process would define aspects of this which Rogue Warrior seeks to keep confidential." Very tacticool, but bear in mind they're not the only ones with this marketing before jumping on 'em.

Latrobe Dura Tec 20CV - Comparable to S30V according to usaknifemaker.com

They look like production blades to me, though some of the scales look like they may be custom. The sheaths are obviously hand done.

Those scales are pretty nice looking, but look a bit uncomfortable.

Don't know what to make of the prices. The website makes no mention of where they're made or who's making them, so ...

Tried to send them a note through the form to ask, but it appears to be broken. Might email them later and ask.

OK, I had to hit the link provided by Kiah... the run-on sentencing used in the website is remarkably similar to that of the OP, Warchild1971.

Next thing I noticed about the site is that the webmaster/copywriter doesn't know the difference between a "Seal" and a "SEAL"... so much for Dick Marcinko's personal involvement.

This screams, MALL NINJA. I'm a knife nut and I think your a fanatic if your taking knife fighting courses and training for knife fighting everyday just cause. Maybe a troll and or a owner/operator of this website or have something to do with profiting from this site selling more watches and knives.

Again, I say this is DORK OPS MALL NINJA crap. Nice try.

How are these black ops guys supposed to sneak behind enemy lines and infiltrate terrorist cells and all that stuff when they can't even infiltrate a knife discussion forum without being spotted on their first post? I don't know.

First you screw up the spam, then you screw up the responses. Way to go!

A one-thread meltdown?

Warchild1971, you are very new here. You don't know the people, you don't know the culture, you don't know our ways.

Your original post does look like spam, rushing in here with high praise for a line of logo goods not exactly well-known. No information on manufacturer or materials or performance. We've seen it before. Dark Ops looks exactly the same: hyperbole backed by hot air.

Your own response was childish and arrogant. It is not going to impress the adults here. Calm down, give us facts, or admit you're all talk and settle down, learn, and enjoy the forums. Do not think to impress us with bluster.
