This is the third or fourth knife that Daniel has sent me for one of my Pancake Sheaths. This one is for left hand cross draw carry or right hand draw behind the back.

Daniel's knives are just right. If ya get a chance hold one.

Perfectly tapered tang and all the details are subtle but there.

In the same batch of sheaths as this one there was a "big" name knife. One you might wait 3-5 years for. Compared to Daniel's it looked like Freddie Flintstone had made it.

Just sayin'.

I like everything about everything I'm seeing here

Great set! Superb leather work and I very much enjoy the handle on that..... :)

Daniel's knives are well made and extremely sharp, just the way anything called a knife ought to be. ;)

Beautiful and useful knife and sheath.

This just screams utility. Sheath holds knife securely even should one be on horse back and at the same time the knife has plenty to grab hold on.

Thanks guys from the leather side. BladeScout safe and secure horseback carry is the origin of all my sheath designs.

There's a WHOLE lot of quality being shown in that post. Wow.

Good thread.

WOW! That dudes gots skillz....:eek::foot::cool::D
Just kidding I still haven't got a clue what I'm doing.

Thanks for your comments, Dave! I appreciate that SO much. Its nice to hear that every once in a while.

That leather work looks pretty dang fine too  the customer should be happy. Dave's work is top notch and just built to last with class.

Thanks guys! Daniel you keep building em like that and you'll keep selling em.

great setup.

when I was in Vancouver last year with my daughter, we went horseback riding.
I noticed this right away on the cowboy's saddle.

Thanks guys! Sure glad ya like it Daniel. We ain't got any of that white stuff yet! Been raining though. HSC?/// I invented, developed , come up with, a deal for hanging a knife or something else on a saddle. Problem with how its pictured there in your shot is those saddle strings aren't really strong. If they break its a pita to fix em on most modern saddles. So I came up with The Saddle Chinkasa (Spanish slang around here for "thingy" or maybe a "whachamacall it"). Its a strap that goes over the rear billet on both sides and sandwiches to the billet with a couple of Chicago screws. There are two horizontal straps that buckle to carry and support whatever you carry there. They are adjustable to various size items via slots in the strap.

So here is a bino case. One strap goes through the belt loop on the back and the other over the body of the case to keep it from flopping.

Large bowie:

Heavy handgun:

The advantage to this system besides its versatility is that the rigging of the saddle is supporting the weight not those strings. This saddle was made for hard use and has roped bulls for a living. That rigging is what gives it that kind of strength. It won't even notice that heavy handgun.
