Does anyone have anymore information on these? For whatever reason, I held a BK16 in the store the other day and I fell in love with the knife; when I started researching more about the "Tweeners", I saw that the BK15 (now discontinued I read) and that BK17, as well as the BK16 I held were produced right when Ka-BAR got their laser-engraver and the original first and second production runs with the Roll-Stamp are extremely rare versus the engraved versions

Now, I guess what I wanted to ask (especially since I'm new here); for whatever reason I'm really drawn to the Roll-Stamped renditions and want to have them as a starting goal for my collection. I'm new to knives but for whatever reason Ka-BAR and Becker seem to have the designs that speak to me the most (especially with being able to interchange scales)

So, can anyone shed any insight into how rare they actually are? And furthermore, I guess I was also wondering if anyone has any leads specifically on the BK17? (or has some in stock condition they are willing to let go)?

They'll all be a challenge now that the stock has been depleted from supply pipelines and the 15 has been discontinued.
However, the 15 and 17 are less difficult than the roll stamped sabre grind 16, which is harder to find.

The sabre grind 16s should be roll stamped while the high grind 16s are laser etched if memory serves me correctly.

Yes that is correct. Ethan wanted the 16 to be a full flat grind all along, but that left no room for the stamp, hence the saber grind. When Ka-bar got the laser equipment, he jumped at the chance to change it to FFG.
