I thought it important to reach out to the community and convey a few thoughts that were on my mind as of late.
As you may or may not know, Kai Corp is celebrating its 100 Year Anniversary. It is a very exciting time, and it has brought forth many memories for us all. One of the first products ever produced by Kai was a pocket knife, and I believe that beginning still has meaning and purpose today. I’ve posted these links before, but for those that have never pursued the Kai sites will get some insight on where our facilities are, and a bit on what we do daily.

As you can see Kai Corp is an International company with deep tradition, and incredible diversity. Today we continue to use our original philosophies and practices in combination with modern technology and a commitment to Research & Development. This blend allows us to be a leader with innovation, design, and performance, and keeps us grounded in backing it all up with Customer Service. We do daily try to exceed our own expectations for our customers delight.
It’s now been 31 years since Kai USA has taken over the Kershaw brand name, and has since brought forth Shun Cutlery and Zero Tolerance Knives. The focus domestically continues to be on Made in the USA products. The R&D Department is expanding, and we continue to invest into the factory. We understand the saying “The rolling stone gathers no moss”. The advancements that we have developed over just the last few years are indicative of this dedication. MIM/HIP technology, Composite Blades, are just a few examples.
The paradigm of business needs to change to get to the new century. We need to review our work, make change and then make it happen. To continue to do business without change is a recipe for disaster. With the rising cost of doing business, we must adapt, and certainly we will. Our longevity depends on it. At the same time we have to use our technical expertise, resources, and experience to be as efficient and consistent as possible. All this will culminate into an enhanced and affordable product for you the consumer to enjoy for years to come.
Thanks for the listening ear.
