Help!
I have suddenly (over the last few months) developed a problem.
I have a new Sharpmaker. I am suddenly rolling the edge of my blades, at the tip.
Especially while trying to sharpen my BM Ares.

I don't THINK I'm doing anything different.
And nothing seems wrong with the sharpener.

I am stumped. I have marked the edge with a black marker...done all the things I'm supposed to do.

Still, the tip of my Ares, about 3/4 of an inch in rounded off.

What the heck am I doing - & how do I fix it?!?!

Thanks for any help

Be sure to pull the tip straight across the stick. I did the same thing when I first got my sharpmaker. I usually stop around the tip and sharpen it seperatly. I hope that makes sense. If not, then e-mail me and I'll try to expand on it.

Are you talking about blunting the very tip? I don't think that's what you mean because you said 3/4" is rolled. If it is the edge, you are probably not holding the knife completely straight when trying to sharpen the very end of the blade. That's all I can think of.

Lighten up on the rods. You are applying too much side pressure.

I used to round the tips of my knives too. Drove me crazy. Just lighten up the stroke and pull straight down and back.
