While preforming my job, I often have the opportunity to poke through rubbish piles from vacant houses. I find all manner of treasure, and recently I found a Rolls Razor that I thought I would share.
It is a nickel plated Imperial #2, the most common model. Furthermore it is a later model (post 1930) and worth even less. As a matter of fact, there were a bunch on ebay if you want one of your own.
The blade appears to be made from "best Sheffield Steel" and has a bail type safety guard.
The case has two lids, one containing a wet stone and the other a leather strop.
The lids were not interchangeable because inside the case was a roller that the blade would attach to. This roller then would drab the blade on the strop side or push the blade against the stone its respective side. When you finished a stroke, simply pulling the handle the opposite way would flip the blade over and and repeat the action.
I thought it was pretty cool, and I liked the deeply hollow ground blade. Not sure what I'll do with it, clean up, restore and try it out, re-purpose the blade or leave as is and admire from time to time. Hope you enjoyed looking.
