Ive been considering the concept of a possibles bag. I think the Maxpedition Rolly Polly extreme could be it. Small in nature but could hold anything from tablet to fire kit and pans. Thoughts? Anyone use something else?

seems pretty heavy for such a small pack and there's no way to seal out the main compartment at all even from light rain...i use a gossamer gear riksak (~5 oz) and minimalist (~11 oz) as my day packs. along the lines of a 1000d cordura and molle compatible then i use a kifaru e&e with their padded shoulder strap to use it as a messenger bag if i don't want to use the regular shoulder straps.

gossamer gear riksak on a day hike:

I'm still struggling through life with a CamelBak MULE as a day pack. After 7+ years of hard use, I still don't feel the need to change. The option to fill and use the 3 ltr bladder is a big plus for me.

Man. That kifaru looks useful.

here's the interior with 4 chamber pockets (it originally comes with just one)...fits a 13" laptop perfectly too.
