Roman Rudius wooden sword?

Any one know any good places to learn about the Rudius wooden swords givien to freed gladiators?

I have worked on several executive protection teams all over north american, and I was thinkig it would be a cool idea to have some Rudius swords to give out to the guys when a perticulary hard and long proteccion job ends in 2 years. The VIP asked me what would be an apropriet and original gift and this is the idea I came up with.

A rudis would be both appropriate and excellent as a gift. If that rudis is your work, those would be spectacular and special; if go with the route of purchasing them I'd recommend Purpleheart Armory; they can engrave it as well, up to 50 characters. http://www.woodenswords.com/WMA/rudis.htm If nothing else, the examples on their website will give you ideas of how elegant they can be!
