A buddy of mine show me Romano's slip joints a few months back, they're really really well done, great finish on all the materials, and reasonably priced for what they are... This was a bit of a "sleeper order," forgot about it till I got the email that it was finished... Very pleasant surprise.....

Don't let the picture deceive you... These are big..

Specs:

Blade: 3"
OAL: 7.5"
Steel: CPM154
Weight: 3.9oz

The finish on the handles is flawless, no tactile transition between the pins, or shield, super smooth all the way across.

I've always loved the Zulu pattern for it, "pinch-ability," makes it easy to open for just about anyone.

The handrub on the blade is amazing, very even and silky... Romano also ground it to a nearly transparent edge... wickedly sharp.

Spring to blade fit is nearly seamless, and flush in all positions. Super smooth walk and talk too. Pull is maybe a 5-6ish...

All in all, a GREAT knife... I think he's still accepting orders, so shoot him an email or PM.

Thanks dudes,

-A

Beautiful one Aaron, love seeing your slipjoint threads and photos pop up from time to time. A7rii pushing out great quality as well~ :D

Wow, just wow. Guys, let me tell you, it takes skill and time to get a hand rubbed finish like that. Black wood is hard to pin that cleanly too. All around a fantastic knife.

That is very well done! I love the Zulu blade shape too...it is not used enough!

Dear Aaron.
Thank you very much for their comments and for those pictures. I am very happy.
Thank you also to all for the praises.

Very nice. I like everything about it. Very very clean execution.
I would love to see more Romano knives shown around here.

Chris

Since this has turned into an advertisement for a non BF knife maker I've edited out some contact info/comments and am closing this thread.

I'll add that these look like great knives and I'd encourage the knife maker to join up as a paid BF knifemaker member. He can contact any mod if he has questions. Looks like lots of folks would be interested.
