Been on a 2 week quest to pick up a selection of vintage Hunter Bowies.
Have 6 total. Got 4 in the mail today. One 7" go on Mon.
This wood handle 6" knife is an older but not really old / German knife.
It looks like its marked ROMO? Never heard of it, cant find much info on it.
Not a high dollar knife, just a neat knife. 😁 Seems well made for an "Original Bowie Knife"
Any info on this ROMO? Quick ebay search shows them made in several countries.
So prob. a re-branded knife.

Just looked in "German Knife and Sword Makers" 1850 to 1945 and no "Romo". Could be a company or distributor after 1945, as lots of German made bowies like these ones came into the USA in the 1950's. John

The ROMO name is pretty common for the " ORIGINAL BOWIE " knives on Ebay, when I went looking to buy one there were probably 10 ROMO's available.
The " ORIGINAL BOWIE " that I bought off Ebay last year which had a 1971 date written on the back of the sheath is a ROMO.

I believe they were probably made by Anton Wingen / Othello.
