Ron at Sog I have a question for you

Hi Bladepusher,

Neither of the Sogwinders come with Cocobolo handles. Our only Cocobolo handled knives are the Tomcat and Stingray.

Hi Bladepusher,

What I did not share (and should have) was the rationale for not having Cocobolo on the Sogwinders.

These knives (the Sogwinders, Tomcat, and Stingray) all have very stiff actions because of the "rock-solid" lockbar. The Sogwinders would be much too hard to operate with a thumbstud because of the slick texture of Cocobolo wood. It's just not a good combination.

I hope you understand.

Gotcha there. That makes a lot of sense. Guess I wasn't thinking of it that way. I will pass the info along. I have one of the stingrays and think he will go for that though. Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to help me on this. I really appreciate it. If I don't get to talk to you again, Have a great week!!!!
