Fellow Members,
I just purchased a small Ron Frazier knife and I am not finding much information on the internet about his work. In particular, I would like to know if possible the approx vintage of the knife and how prolific and maker he was. It is coming with a "Tree Stump" quality leather sheath that is unmarked. Was he known to make his own sheaths or did he use companies such as Tree Stump Leather to do that work? It looks to be a decent quality sheath. I have included two links to fotos of the knife below.

Thank you,
Ricardo

Sorry no help here, but that is a gorgeous piece... Unbelievable stag!!!👍👍👍

As Dudley said he was an absolutely fantastic craftsman. One of the best sole authorship Persian Daggers I ever saw was made by him.

Someone started a Facebook memorial page for Ron.

Nice piece you have there.

Fellow members,
Thank you for your responses. I received the Frazier knife yesterday and I have a better understand of why this knifemaker enjoyed such a good reputation. It is a simple knife yet there is a lot of attention to detail. While I have not seen any information concerning the approximate number of knives that he produced in his lifetime, I imagine that he wasn't a very prolific maker given the amount of effort that he obviously invested in each of his knives. The stag grips are some of the best that I have held in may hands and all of the joints and bevels are superbly done. It feels very comfortable and is a great size to take on short hikes. The information on the FB page established to highlight Frazier's craft was excellent.
