Last year I donated a nice knife to the Army National Guard in CT. They presented it to the Soldier of the Year who was currently on duty in Bosnia. What started out as a guy just wanting to do something post 9/11/01 turned into something bigger than expected. I received a nice card and email from the Lt. General in command, a very nice note and card from the Soldiers C.O. It was a Titanium knife that was taking up space in my safe, I figured one of our servicemen could actually use the knife. So I sent it off to the General, I met him on a hunt in Lousiana, I just asked him to give it to someone who could really use it.
I just communicated with the General via email and I am donating my NIB SOG Government Agent, with the kydex, leather, & cordura sheaths. Again he stated the knife would be given as an award, this time to the non-com of the year.
I was going to sell off some of my knives that I don't use and donate half the money to the local Marine Base Family Support group, the other half would go into my three daughters savings. That one knife sure payed back more than money. I will be selling most of the rest, they just don't mean that much to me when the money can help a soldiers family who is in the fight.

Just thought I would let you know where one of SOG's knives is headed.

Hey Tom,

Wow! Thanks for sharing. It is wonderful to know where our knives are going and great to know you wanted to send something of value to yourself to assist others.
