Ron Newton does excellent work and his knives are a special pleasure to own.

It is, however, another difficult knife to photograph... pearl, which can be beautiful, scatters the light - small details in the damascus are an additional challenge - it's unusual handle presents composition challenges. So, this is my most recent attempt to address some of those chalenges.

Fantastic knife and a really terrific photo as well, Buddy. So many wonderful small details to enjoy in this piece, from the carved and textured pearl to the complex mosaic damascus. A special pleasure ideed.

Really wonderful depth in this, Buddy. That's a shot I would be especially proud of, too.

We BOTH know how hard it is to capture pearl without blowing it out. Nicely accomplished.

Straight out of the camera, right....? ;)

Outstanding knife and outstanding photography Buddy. I'm sure it is a pleasure to you to look at both the image and the knife.

Ron is one of my favorite makers. He did a great job with the knife and your photograph is terrific.

Beautiful knife, by a great maker. You have captured the pearl very well. I would be interested in seeing a larger uncompressed file, because if my memory serves me right theres a small amount of real gold in the prospectors sieve!;)

Beautiful knife. Both photos show the knife and the subtle textures very well.
Must be outstanding to see the play of light with the knife in hand.

That is a very beautiful knife.I like the prospector picture on the damascus.Good photography in bringing out so many features of the knife.Looks like you struck "gold", with this one.
