I just bought a Spyderco Ronin, really great knife! a bit smaller than I was expecting but I'll get over that. I came razor sharp out of the box and in the first ten minutes of play the scary sharp tip allready bit me :) The flat grind slices like hell and I just love the handle. At first sight great knife but is it normal that the sheath is that tight ? I really need to give it a forcefull yank to get it out, even with the pressure screw somewhat released. This gives great lockup but I don't know if the chain would hold when I'd pull it out (wearing as a neckknife). Does anyone has any experience in this field ?

I carry mine IWB instead of on the neck and I found that even with the tension screw fully removed there is still a good amount of tension for IWB carry.

Just loosen the screw a little more and then hang the knife on a chain and bounce it up and down over a bed (or any soft surface). See if the knife pops out. Keep loosening until you get the proper tension you want or until the knife is no longer fully retained by the sheath.

(Make sure and stay clear in case the knife drops out. Also don't have anything on the soft surface that you don't want cut ;))

you said it ;) Easily the sharpest knife I own, I was even more amazed by it than I was by my MT LCC !
