Hey guys usually more active on the bali forum, but Anyone have experience with ronin katanas? My buddy got one a few years back for I think 200 and it is still a very sharp and heavy cutter, pretty well made to. Are they still decent quality for the price?

They are... don't get me wrong ... they aren't showcase swords (well the Elites kinda are) but they are tough well built beaters.

i have written several reviews on Ronins ... as well as done a bunch of stupid stuff on a series of destructive tests. Ronins are a good bang for the buck...

Heres a couple of reviews.

Thanks alot! Im not really looking to spend that much on a Katana, so this is a perfect choice! great reviews and videos by the way. Thats some awesome father and son bonding.

Lol, I saw this and was going to post links to Marc's reviews on SBG, but it appears the man himself has beaten me to the punch. I have a dojo, and a dojo pro. Both are great swords for the low end. The only gripe i've ever had with the ronin's is the scabbards, and the use of too much wax or whatever the heck the gunk inside the scabbards is. My dojo is worse in this regard (by far) than the pro, but they're a pain when you have to clean the crap off the blade every time you pull it out of the scabbard. Aside from that though, i'm quite pleased with mine.
