Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone knows anything bad about the Janich Ronin knife. I ordered it and I really haven't heard anything bad about it. I'm a big fan of Kelly Worden and Michael Janich, so surely if Janich carries it, it is a worthy knife. If anyone owns one, let me know what you think about it so I know I made a good decision. I have been wanting a good concealable fixed blade for a while now. The only other fixed blade I own is the cold steel recon tanto, which I hated the rubbery death handle so I cut it off and cord wrapped it. I like cold steel blades but what the hell is L.T. thinking putting all that rubbery irritatating handle on them? Anyways I hope to get a busse soon. My friend has the battle mistress and mean street, and I really like the way they feel and carry. He wanted to custom design a strider knife but orders are booked until the end of the year, anyways.....somebody let me know about the ronin, thanks

I have the Spyderco production Ronin which is a great small knife for daily carry. I find it a bit heavy for neck carry, but that may just be because of my pencil-neck :)

In the hand, you will probably find out that the Ronin really works. Fits naturally in the hand, cuts fiercely, and made in (for folks like me who live in a country that rains year round) a good stain-resistant steel (VG10).

The sheath is ok but could be better - I stripped the tension screw on mine (aluminium?) trying to loosen it.

I'm with redvenom; good knife, bad sheath. It's sharp and pointy as all get out, excellent grinds on the blade, as I've come to expect from Spyderco. You made a good choice.

I carry my Spydie Ronin everyday for SD/emergency purposes, while my S30V Military PE takes care of all of my other cutting chores. The Ronin is an excellent self defense blade, which can also double as a good utility blade due to the full flat grind on that great VG10 steel. My only peeve about it is the sheath that comes with it, which is soon going to be replaced with an aftermarket sheath from Mike Sastre. :D
