With Spyderco's blessing, I had my friend Mickey Yurco make up several versions of a "next gen" Ronin. When I picked them up from Mickey at the Blade Show last year and brought them back to the Spyderco booth, they attracted Eric and Sal's attention. Shortly thereafter, one version, which closely parallels the lines of the Yo2, was on loan to them for inclusion in the prototype/concept model case. It has since made the rounds at a number of shows to get feedback. No word on any decisions to pursue production yet.
In the meantime, one of the other versions--an improved version of the original Ronin design--is available from Stay Safe Media. It's a limited edition of custom knives handmade by Mickey Yurco.
