Roof racks - questions

What's out there?

I saw someone with a "basket" mounted up on the roof...but it was deeper than the ones I've seen by Yakima. It was more like 12" deep (rather than the usual 4-6").

Who else makes these?

I claim ignorance!

I made one out of PVC 5 years ago and mounted it to my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Painted it black and spent about $40.00, custom length and depth.

There are all kinds of roof racks!! Try searching Performance Products; they have some by SURCO. One is called a safari rack and the other is an urban roof rack.

Try www.roofracks4less.com. I bought a Safari rack for my 1998 Jeep Cherokee and paid about $150 less than anywhere else I looked and trust me when I tell you that I looked...a lot!
