Hello all,

I am brand new to the forum here and was hoping for some input. Let me start by saying I know nothing about collectible knives. I'm just a redneck deer hunter who uses knives as tools. A couple of days ago, I won the collection of knives pictured on this site:

http://www.sportsmenfortots.org/raffleitems.html

I still don't even have them in hand yet, but I was wondering what you guys could tell me about them. Are they really worth what this website says they're worth? Are they rare? Should I hang on to them? If I did decide to sell them, what could I expect to get for them? Where would be the place to sell them? I'm totally clueless and would appreciate any information!

Thanks in advance,
Chad

welcome to the forum. its highly possible since they are raising money for kids. i'm sure someone who collects kabar knives will be along and let you know.

Thirteen knives valued at $1030 comes out to an average of $80 apiece. That seems quite realistic to me for a value 'guestimate'.

What could you reasonable expect to get if selling them? The best way to check is to do a Completed Items search on eBay. Look for knives that have sold recently that are the same as those in the collection you won - same brand, same condition, same model if possible.

Some of those patterns go for decent bucks on ebay. People collect all manner of knives and trust me if this is a collection in mint cond. it will be worth at least what they say it will. keepem sharp

I am still kicking my own,,, over knives that I have won then sold over the years.

If you're not a collector I understand though.

Congrats, I hope you thanked "Paradise Slim"

From what I know about the Club knives that is a very reasonable estimate of their value, Ya done good! If you do decide to sell them the could be sold on e-bay tho I would not list them all at once but release a couple a month. That way the market isn't flooded. Or you could sell them on a site like www.cuttingedge.com

Hard to tell by the picture, but they could be high quality slippies made by Queen. Queen made some beautiful slipjoints for Winchester and I think they still make the Schatt & Morgans, and possibly made these for KaBar. One of the experts from the Slipjoint forum will probably chime in. If that's what they are, they are very nice pocket knives indeed, and not cheap.
