Rope Filework?

Honest - I've never seen a knife with rope filework, nor even seen a good photo of it. So my question is: Is this what it's supposed to look like? :)

Thanks for any guidance, I may very well commit this to a knife in the morning...

That is really close Dave...
You can run a small three corner file down the center of the high ridges with just a slight cut this will give the illusion of the braids in the rope. Also all you would really need is to round over the high rigdes, this way it looks round and not just have sharp edges.but this is just a matter of taste,Yours does look really good.I wish I had a picture of some for you but I dont.Maybe one of the other forumites will have a picture of some that they did.

Took some diggin in the archives but I knew there was a link to a page with pictures of different file work patterns. Go to this page and look down the right column about half way down.

You'll see a link to a page with the pictures. I'm afraid they're hand drawn and not very clear, especially the rope one but it might help.

I think that just removeing the sharp sholders on the cable's coils may be enough, You can add more detail if you like, but it is looking realy good so far.
