i was thinking of getting some rosarm blades but how are they in the field would like some honest replies looking for a blade in the 7" style like the nona,or tiaga an they will be used an abused can the take it???

Yes, but in HI I would be selective of the type of handle. The steel can take it.

Example: You want to use a leather handle in a tropical environment? I'm assuming any knife you use will be subjected to the elements. Enough heavy use and the leather will begin to rot. Especially, if you get in the Pacific Ocean.

i use a kabar for years with no problem, but never used cork or is that cork on the handle i dont know,i heard there blades are kinda flimsy is this true,is the blade easy to sharpen does it hold an edge,,jus asking,, i like there designs, what blade can you compare the too

I never heard of their blades being flimsy. The stainless steel they use is a product of Russia from one of their mining industrial areas. Sort of like Sheffield, England.

The cork you are referring to is actually birch bark.

Rosarms stainless is a very close cousin to BG42 and 440C. And it probably a little better but that is just my opinion. All I own are the big blades and there is nothing flimsy about them. I particularly likes this company because of the history it comes out of. Since these knives aren't that expensive I think you have enough information in this forum and your other sources to make an educated decision without too much risk. You should have no problem reselling the knife if it doesn't fit your needs if you decide to get one. Keep us posted. Good, bad, or ugly. Thanks.

I only have one. The "Baby". It is a very tough knife and the handle is wonderfully comfortable. Takes and holds a good edge
Sadly, the sheath is not as stout as the blade is. It is adaquate at best.
The knife is superb. Rugged and holds an edge nicely.
I would not hesitate to buy the knife again, even with the wimpy sheath.
It has a 9" blade with an oal of 14 1/4". Chops nicely because of the weight forward design. Get one. I hear their sheaths have improved.
Pictures before use.

i like there designs the nona, arrow 3,an taiga are the blades that is calling me think i will give them a try,,aloha an mahalos for the info

You might want to check out the SN Bayonet. I have one and it is fantastic and a little beefier than some of the knives.
It also has a solid micarta handle.

I like the birch bark handle if weight is an issue ,or if you are over water because it floats ,it also has a fantastic grip.
