Alright, Porchsters… As promised. I recently purchased two RoseCraft Cane Creeks in rosewood at very amicable prices. I decided to keep the one I like better and offer the other up here for GAW for karma points.
The Cane Creek is a single blade clip point in a swell-center pattern with a D2 steel blade. Yes, China, but y'all know I’m a fan of the RC’s, and I have several. Strong action, sharp edge, BNIB.
The only flaw that falls outside of RC’s usual fit and finish (in my experience) with this particular one is that the covers are juuuuust shy of the liners at the blade well. That is, there’s a little bit of a lip between the covers and the liner on both sides on the front. Spring (back) side is perfect. Honestly, I think the woodgrain is nicer on this one compared to the one I’m keeping, but my OCD wouldn’t let me forgive the minor imperfection in the fitment. Everything else is good, and hey, keep in mind this is a free knife.
Here are the rules:
- Be a regular contributor to the Porch, and generally cool person (subjective, I know).
- US only, not getting all crazy with international shipping for a free knife.
- Feel free to nominate others who you’d want to have it, as long as they meet parameters 1 and 2.
- Post “I’m in” with a picture of your favorite traditional knife AND name your favorite Halloween candy/treat. Necco Wafers may be an automatic disqualifier (kidding. If you like ‘em, more power to you… chalk eater… but they won’t disqualify you from entry.)
I’ll keep this open until Friday evening at midnight (my time, I’m in Florida). And make a random selection from the entrants Saturday early afternoon.
Here are the pics of the knife you will receive:
