Got a Roselli for Christmas. Really cool little axe.

Next to the BK9 for size reference:

Looking forward to using it. I opted for the 18" handle model, that's considered the axe. The 14" model is considered the hatchet, with the same head. $2 more for the 18" inch handle seemed the way to go. I can always choke up 4 inches if I need to, haha.

What exactly is the reason for an ax like this as opposed to a more "standard" pattern? It looks like the balance is really weird but I've never handled one so I wouldn't know

Supposedly, it's a carving axe. That's what I wanted it for, to hew out blanks for spoons, and bowls. Bearded, to get your hand behind the blade.

Before Roselli became knife maker, he was a hunter.
This ax is made on the basis of his personal experience and is designed to meet the challenges he faced when he was a hunter.

Dressed out a deer with mine. Awesome just awesome. Ergos r great. Birch handle feels very comfy, seems to deaden vibration very well. Also just feels good in hand, yet different than usual hickory feel. I love mine. Stripped carbon and boy is it shiny. Definitely a unique piece that has its own personality when doing some tasks

This axe is a great camp axe, you can do a lot of knife works with it. It is a very good splitter considering its size and weight.

Have yet to use mine. Took it to the cabin with me this past weekend, but it rained the entire time we were there. Going back for four days this next weekend though for our anniversary. Hoping to use it then.
