I read that effective hardeness for Roselly UHC (ultra high carbon) is about 64-66HRC. Can anybody say for sure? Did sombody test it and check hardness?

Thanks, Vassili

I wouldn't doubt it. My Roselli erapuukko in their 'standard' high carbon (made by Krupp) is probably around 60. They forge their blades which should add a point or two.

I don't have any expirience with these knives, but 64-66 HRC is very hard, and I would think they would be very brittle. They would be very effective cutters, but equally hard to sharpen. And wether or not they are forged will have not impact on their hardness.

No. I am talking about UHC not W75 from Krupp. He has W75, UHC and wootz. I can expect brittness from 66HRC too - this is why I am asking for somebody who tested it.
Thanks, Vassili.
