So need some help from a magazine archivist (My wife calls us hoarders!) LOL Back in the 1980's (I think) Ross Seyfried wrote an article in Guns and Ammo on hunting knives. It included some pictures of a set of two knives he designed and had made. I loaned a bunch of my magazines out a while back and apparently that issue was in the bunch and there is NO chance of getting it back. Does anyone have that article? Any chance of getting a scan of it please? Itching to try and recreate those for a special project.
FWIIW: I have googled this to death and tried emailing and actually writing G&A to get a copy with zero results.

You can find a lot of magazines from that era scanned and readable online.

If you can narrow down the month and year it will help. You won't find the article itself with an online search because it will be a photo or scan but you should be able to find he actual issue.

Then plan B would be the local libraries. Guns and Ammo most likely has some sort of microfiche of it but it might be impossible for them to share it.

No luck on both those avenues so far. Hope that this request jogs a specific memory by someone on Blade Forums to help narrow the search. I know think that Feb.1986 he wrote an article for G&A titled,'Is Your Knife Cutting It?'. Not sure if that is the one I want or not. I loaned out 2 decades of magazines. I cannot narrow it down.

Dang. I'd love to re-read his articles. His review of the CS Master Hunter and Twistmaster and high praise for Carbon V caused me to buy those blades. Just the tools to process giraffes and elephants...

That wasn't very hard. Takes a while to load.

You probably don't want to look at any of the ammo or firearms prices though.
Wow kudos to you! I consider myself fairly proficient in google-fu but I couldn't find it, I did find several mentions of the article. I wonder if the design in question is functional?

On another note those freehand sharpening clamp on guides look nifty, I've never seen them recommended though. Anyone know if they work well?

Thanks. If you're looking for a needle in a haystack find the haystack first.

That looks like a knife that works for some folks.

Ross Seyfried was a master-gunner back then, and his articles were so infectious to pore through...over and over..
As a serious big-bore hand-gunner, he was my go-to for fun reading...

I wish they’d bring back the twistmaster.
