hi
i used to own a rost frei knife with "american eagle" on the blade. I work in a rescue job and put this knife through a lot of hard worked and it never let me down. The problem is it has been stolen and I am having trouble finding another one.

So if anyone can help me, it would be appreciated
Thanks!

Rostfrei is German for stainless (literal translation: "rust-free").
If there's no specific steel type next to it, it's probably one of the cheapest (and - for most applications - worst) steels around: 4024, the German equivalent of 420.

I strongly suggest looking into higher quality knives. Even if you don't want to spend more than 30 to 50 bucks, there are plenty of options (e.g. CRKT, some Spydercos and Benchmade's red line knives) around that offer better performance than your lost knife could.
Since you were satisfied with the "American Eagle's" performance, you would most likely be stunned by what a good Spydie (for example) can do.

welcome to the forums! You know, i recently picked up a benchmade mini-pika in a plain edge. The lockup is solid, opens smooth, good 440C stainless, all for 26 bucks. I highly recommend this knife to you. Its an excellent choice. again welcome.

For rescue work, the spydie rescue is nice.
They have a whole line of rescue-specific knives.

VG10 steel is much harder and takes a better edge than 420.

You can get the 79mm for about 30-40.00US.

I have one and it is very solid, and the extra-large hole allows for one hand opening even with medium gloves on. (It's cold in my neck of the woods this week!)
