Rotring Pen/Pencil Combo?

Are you talking about the good "old" ones made in Germany or, the bad ones made by Sanford now?

I bought separates on ebay so I could get what I wanted ;-)

I have an older tri-color pen combination that is nice in concept but, I found the action to be less then what I wanted. Have you "test driven" the duo to make sure it gives you the writing action you want? Keeping an extra pen or pencil handy is a pain in some cases but, the improved writing action was worth it for me. YMMV ;)

I have too much stuff in my pockets already and I don't even EDC a knife, so I wanna minimize it by doing this

Does Rotring make a Pen / 0.5 mm pencil combo?
No. 0.5mm is the standard pencil insert for their Twin Pen. Quite honestly, I don't think I ever saw a Twin Pen by any manufacturer that uses a 0.7mm pencil mechanism. (At least for Lamy, Faber Castell, and other current manufacturers.)

I have an old Rotring 600 with the red ink, blue ink, and 0.7 pencil. I just took it out to verify the size of the lead.

These are solid writing instruments, but the ink cartridges for the triple are really tiny, and I always preferred pens that could write a loooong time :)

Lamy's use 0.7 and I don't like their barrels
That's right. The new Accent Multi (Model 495) uses the 0.7mm pencil mechnism. Forgot about that.

I don't know what mine's called, but it has black, blue, underliner, and 0.5 lead. I've had it for about a year or maybe a little longer, so you should be able to find them.
