G'day guys,

Here's my latest.

The blade is forged and machine finished 80CRV2, etched and cold blued. Spine and choil are both rounded. The handle is brown canvas micarta, contoured for a secure and comfortable grip. Guard and pin are 416 stainless. The blade is 11" long, and 1/4" thick. OAL is 16.5".
The balance point is about 2" ahead of the guard.

Not pretty, but it should get the job done!

In light of the recent 'Imitation is...' thread, I'd like to give credit to Nick Wheeler for the handle design. It seems like the more comfortable the handle gets, the more Wheelerish it looks.

All comments welcome.

Thanks for looking.

I like that a lot. It's not as rough as I imagined when I read the title :D. I was expecting brut de forge.

Great job.....love the contrasts with the blued blade and a perfectly LARGE-sized chopper!

Don't comment here often, but man does this one deserve it. Great looking piece.

Thanks for the comments guys!

Great looking knife Will. You etched in Ferric and then cold blued?

Thanks mate. Yes that's right; etched in diluted ferric, then blued. I'm not sure if it would look any different without the etch, I just thought it might help to keep everything looking even.

Thanks, Willie. There's some unintentional brut de forge, but you have to look very close to find it.
